connect
I had to re-install windows and put xp from a desktop to a notebook and was
wondering if the tow were different and you have to have xp for a notebook to
get it to work

If you were not sending a resolution to the TV over the interface you are
using that the TV does not accept over that interface you would see nothing.
If you do an F8 safe mode boot you should be able to run and change the
resolution for a normal boot that your TV will accept.
It makes do diference which Windows OS you are running or what type of
computer it is running on.

In addition to Curious's comments, it would help if you provided a little
more info. How are you trying to connect the TV to the PC - s-video
connector, VGA, etc.?

If you are not using the VGA plug to a similar connection on the TV, then
you may need to change a setting for the video card to send a signal out a
different connector (s-video for example).

Understand, that depending on the TV specifics, the image will not have the
resolution of your monitor.
